Ron has been a Rotarian for nearly 20 years, joining in 2004 and has been President of 2 clubs (RC Nepean in 2009-10 and RC Sydney Darling Harbour in 2018-19). Ron is on the District 9675 Leadership Team and has held the roles of District Chair Governance since 2021 and NSW Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards (RESCA) Chair since 2020.  Ron will be stepping down from these roles on 30 June 2023.

Ron has been selected by his District 9675 as the District Governor (DG) for the Rotary Year 2024 - 25 and will follow current DG Janice Hall (2022 - 23) and DG Elect Tonia Barnes (2023 - 24) in providing leadership to the 50 plus clubs in D9675.  Ron is passionate about Service above Self, and has utilised Rotary as his vehicle to give back to the community and support those who are worse off than he is.

Projects Ron has been involved with alongside his club members include -

• Supporting homeless men (The Station, Sydney) and women (Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre [WAGEC] Sydney),
• Dress4Success helping disadvantaged women get back into the workforce,
• Water projects in Thailand,
• Housing reconstruction in Nepal,
• Sending a Vocational Training Team to Vanuatu to teach disaster preparedness (NSW RESCA VTT),
• Medical Centre in India,
• Supporting the Aussie Bangla Smile project, an Australian Medical Team doing facio-maxillary surgical repairs in Bangladesh,
• working bees at youth and women's refuges to improve their living conditions, and
• providing sponsorship to women to attend TAFE courses to further their education and become more self sufficient.
